Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch

In 2001 Museum Boymans van Beuningen presented a big exhibition of work by the famous Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516). The continued fascination for Bosch's work was illustrated by modern and contemporary works included in the exhibition, by artists such as Bill Viola, Salvador Dalí, Jörg Immendorff, Robert Gober, William Kentridge, James Ensor and Pipilotti Rist.

Sip my Ocean was installed in Amsterdam in 1996. This museum was built in 1895 at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, near to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. It is under construction since 2004 and will re-open in 2010. Ann Goldstein, curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angelos, is appointed new director.

Endoscopy means looking inside and typically refers to looking inside the body for medical reasons using an instrument called an endoscope. Elixir, the exhibition Pipilotti Rist made in Museum Boijmans in 2009, was designed as a journey through the body of work she made since 1986.
