Traces of Johan Thorn Prikker
In the early 20th century, the action radius of the Dutch artist Johan Thorn Prikker (1868-1932) covered The Hague, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Visé, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Munich, Hagen, Krefeld and Neuss. Everywhere he lived and worked, he left indelible traces in the shape of works that are directly linked with the architecture: mosaics, wall paintings and stained glass windows. These location-specific works, which make up such an important part of his artistic oeuvre, could not be missing from his retrospective exhibition ‘Beyond Jugendstil’ (13 November 2010 - 13 February 2011). His work is shown in a series of six videos.
